The ML 2000 extracts low intensity fluorescence in very bright-light conditions. The system extracts the low intensity fluorescence from penetrant dye inspection of cracks and surface flaws in non-porous and ferromagnetic materials… but without the need for darkened rooms or the necessity for inspections to be conducted at night. Instead, ordinary lighting indoors and full daylight sunshine outdoors will not inhibit inspections.
Moreover, this is done very quickly and efficiently using special machine vision tools and the system’s software can also automatically detect defects without the need of a trained inspector – and also keeps permanent records, pass or fail, of everything which is inspected for 100% quality audit and compliance purposes.
The system has very great resolution and can automatically detect small discontinuities such as inclusions, seams, shrink cracks, tears, laps, flakes, welding defects, grinding, cracks, quenching cracks and fatigue cracks in forgings, foundry, fabrication, atomic energy, aerospace, ship building, railways, automobile, etc., for the purposes of quality control of components, maintenance and overhauling. These checks are all prescribed by various standards bodies. (E.g. British Standards BS4489 and BS667, Civil Aviation Authority Air Worthiness Notice 95 and Rolls Royce Standard RPS702).
